SARS dominates the News from Toronto

• In the Community
No widespread or isolated cases of SARS have been reported within the community. However, there was a marked drop in attendance at the West End Seniors Social on April 26. Fears of SARS has also meant the postponement of the Goan Konkani Troupe's Tiatr scheduled the June. Performers faced difficulties meeting for rehearsals .

• The World Health Organization will lift a controversial advisory against travel to Toronto.

• Personal hygiene important to stop spread of SARS. "Hand washing should be practiced frequently through the day - and people should cover their mouth when coughing.
