Q: There's a federal election coming up,
and I currently live abroad. Can I still vote?
A: You are eligible to have your name added
to the National Register of Electors
if you meet the following requirements:
- you
are a Canadian citizens 18 years of age or older;
- you
have been residing outside Canada for less than five consecutive
years since your last visit home; and
- you
intend to resume residence in Canada.
Note:
The five-year time limit does not apply to:
- federal
or provincial public servants posted abroad;
- expatriate
employees of international organizations to which Canada
belongs and contributes;
