GTA Seniors now Toronto East Goan Seniors Association
The Executive of the Seniors Association elected at the
inaugural meeting on 23 April,2004. has selected Toronto
East Goan Seniors Association as their name.
President Claude Gomes, said that this name was selected
after a long internal process which took into account the
way the organization would be viewed by various agencies
dealing with seniors issues.
Since most of the 200+ members are of Goan descent, the
name had to figure in the title as well as the region served
by the association. The new specific name will avoid any
conflict with mainstream organizations and identify a particular
group of Seniors (Goan Seniors) to which its efforts are
directed.

From the State Departement Rule for the DV Program:
"Alien petitioners for the Diversity Visa Program will
no longer be permitted to submit a petition by mail. Instead,
the Department will require that all petitions be submitted
to it in an electronic format, using an Internet website
dedicated specifically to the submission and receipt of
Diversity Visa."
