The Goan Charitable organization is your charitable organization that tries to help and respond, as best as we can, to the financial needs of the members in our community, who seek and desperately need our support.During the year 2007 we were able to help over 40 families that needed financial assistance due to various reasons. We were able to assist some families by way of food vouchers, money for critical expenditures, funeral expenses and where assistance was needed. We were able to do this because of the generous donations we received through the fundraiser "Annual Walk-A-Thon" and from other generous personal donations.

May 18th, 2008: On behalf of the members of the Calangute Association, Canada, I send our best wishes to all the Goans around the world on the 9th Anniversary of the World Goa Day to be held on August 20th, 2008. Let us toast ourselves to our past, present and future and to our unique Goan heritage!  We have designated our forthcoming event, the Seventeenth Anniversary Gala Ball / Annual Social of the Calangute Association, Canada to be held on Saturday September 13 th, 2008, to be part of our Goa Day celebrations and we invite all Goans to attend our 2008 forthcoming event to be held in Rexdale (Toronto), Canada.
