Mississauga Halton LHIN launches its community
engagement with seniors, their families and informal
caregivers
We need your ideas and
suggestions on enhancing seniors' health, wellness and
quality of life.
OAKVILLE, ON, July 3 /CNW/ -
The Mississauga Halton Local Health
Integration Network (MH LHIN) is launching the next
phase of community engagement activities which will
inform the LHIN's Integrated Health Service Plan's
priority of enhancing seniors' health, wellness and
quality of life, as well as the local Aging at Home
Strategy. The initial community consultation will be
held on Wednesday, July 9th, 2008 from 1:00 - 3:00
p.m. at the Mississauga Central Library. Seniors,
their families and informal caregivers are invited to
attend this two hour event to learn more about the MH
LHIN's local strategy to increase programs and
services for seniors, and to provide input to the LHIN
on what community supports and services could help
seniors to live healthy and independent lives in their
homes.
As a part of the Strategy, the Mississauga Halton LHIN
has been allocated $60 million over three years, and
will be making strategic investment totaling $7.7
million this year in seven key areas including:
-
enhancing supports for seniors and their families
affected by mental illness,
-
increasing supports for daily living (housing
options for seniors),
-
increasing seniors' adult day programs,
-
enhancing palliative (end of life) services,
-
creating alternatives for hospitalized patients who
no longer require acute care,
-
enhancing support for residents of long-term care
homes, and
-
expanding health promotion and wellness initiatives.
Details
regarding the community engagement process and
opportunities to get involved will be available on the
LHIN's site at
www.mississaugahaltonlhin.on.ca shortly.

International Goan
Organization
Public Meeting
Sunday, July 6, 2008, at 2.30pm
Eatonville Library, Etobicoke - Toronto
News Release For Meeting
A WARNING CALL TO THOSE WHO HAVE PROPERTY IN GOA OR
CONSIDERING INVESTING IN THE MOTHERLAND……….
……..EVEN AS YOU READ THIS YOUR INHERITANCE COULD BE IN
JEOPARDY……..
……..GREED AND CORRUPTION IS RAMPANT IN THE
MOTHERLAND…..
……..SADLY, NRI’s AND NRG’s HAVE BEEN TARGETTED…….
……..HEED THE ALARM CALLS BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.
No……..this is not sensationalism but the cold
unvarnished truth of the sad goings on in our
motherland.
Members of the IGO have just returned from Goa and
have witnessed first hand the appalling experience of
one family member cheating another; neighbour turning
upon neighbour; and the like. They have been privy to
the tangled web of bureaucracy, hassle and frustration
that is now an integral part of the property
administration process. Sad, but true. And now they
want to help you in ways that can make a difference.
Attend the IGO meeting at the Eatonville Library, 430
Burnhamthorpe Road, Etobicoke, Sunday, July 6, 2008,
from 2.30pm to 4.15pm , and get better informed about
this sorry situation.
Items for discussion:
-
Where do I
start?
-

-

-

And, most importantly, how do
I find a HONEST lawyer!
Property values in Goa are escalating on a daily basis
to unprecedented and unimagined heights and this, in
turn, has fuelled a spiral of greed that now threatens
the relationships between neighbours, friends and
family.
Your first step is to get abreast of the cold, hard
facts.
Everyone is Welcome to
attend. Please pass the word around to all your
friends who may be interested in this topic. Kindly e
mail Myra Tavares at
mtavares2@rogers.com or
almathias@rogers.com to confirm your
attendance, so that seating can be arranged.
See you on Sunday, July 6, 2008, at 2.30pm. at the
