Ontario Launches Summer Jobs Programs McGuinty Government Gives Young People Job Skills and Experience TORONTO, Feb. 20 /CNW/ - Ontario has a range of summer job opportunities for students, through Ontario's Summer Jobs Programs. The Summer Jobs Service (http://www.ontario.ca/summerjobs) offers students free self-marketing and job search services, and offers employers a $2-per-hour wage subsidy to encourage them to hire students. These programs are open to students aged 15 to 24 years (up to 29 years for a person with a disability) who are planning to return to school this fall. Through the Summer Jobs (http://www.ontario.ca/summerjobs) programs, working-age students may: Search for a job through "Job Connect" agencies Improve how they market themselves Connect with employers Start their own "Summer Company" (http://www.ontario.ca/summercompany) Work for the Ontario Government (http://www.ontario.ca/careers). Last year, the McGuinty government helped more than 86,000 young people find employment during the summer break.
