Israel
army encourages soldiers to ‘get stoned’ in Goa?
The
Israeli Army, known by its official name of Israel
Defense Forces (IDF) prefers that its demobilized
soldiers travel to Goa to get stoned out of their
minds, says a report by Amira Hass in the Israeli
daily newspaper ‘Haaretz’. The report says that it
suits the IDF that when they are released after three
years of mandatory military service, demobbed soldiers
travel to Goa, Peru or Colombia to bury their agonized
memories or belated insights – as adults – before
activists from the NGO ‘Breaking the Silence’ reach
them. [H] |

Chevrolet Spark LPG: First Look
http://zigwheels.com/Features/Chevrolet-Spark-LPG-First-Look/Chevrolet_200906-1-1
We take a closer look at what the Chevrolet Spark LPG
has on offer.
GM
makes good cars. That may be quite a statement coming
from us at testing times for the General, but it
remains a fact. They may not be in the best of health
in the United States but GM India is all hale and
hearty - a point stated and re-stated time and again
by GM India President and Managing Director Karl Slym.
Testament to that has been the company sticking to
launch schedules for their new products - first, the
Chevrolet Captiva SUV with AWD and an autobox and now
the latest from the Chevrolet stables - the Spark LPG.

I for

Neves Pereira, my Maths teacher, and Jude Cordeiro, a
classmate, of whom I still cherish warm memories. For
a special reason, explained herein, I have always
inter-connected the two memory-wise, as far as my own
schooling experiences go. As fate would have it, it
now turns out they have both passed away within 5
months of one another and in the same year.

Top
five myths about drinking and driving
VANCOUVER, July 21
/CNW/ - Too many people -
especially young men - still drink and drive
and make excuses for why it's OK. But if you
drive while impaired this summer, chances
are you'll get caught at a roadcheck, as
part of a province-wide campaign by the
Province, ICBC and police. Although Counter
Attack roadchecks, advertising, stricter
penalties and rehabilitation programs have
helped cut the number of deaths from
drinking and driving by more than half in
the past 30 years, it's still a serious
concern that kills an average of 116 people
every year(*).

Fri Jun 19, 6:14 AM
TOKYO (AFP) -
Health experts have long warned of
the risk of obesity, but a new Japanese
study warns that being very skinny is even
more dangerous, and that slightly chubby
people live longer. People who are a little
overweight at age 40 live six to seven years
longer than very thin people, whose average
life expectancy was shorter by some five
years than that of obese people, the study
found.
