   The following items are EARLY NOTICES that will be benefit our "snowbirds" who fly away to warmer climes.

2. Annual General Meeting: will be held late April 2010. Watch for the date !

3. Nominations for Elections to take over the Executive Roles that will be made available will be conducted at the AGM. Your keen perception will be required in the selection of the new committee to take 55PGA into the next 2 years 2010 to 2012.

4. EARLY BIRD MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL- NOV.17 TO DEC 15/2009

   It's that time again when a reminder to renew your membership is relayed to all members. All renewals made between Nov17 and Dec 15, 2009 will be entered into a draw for a chance to win your subscription back. There will 4 draws made at the Dec 15 event and the names of the winners will be posted on our website , as well as an individual notice will be sent to each of the winners.
   
   So mail your cheques to the address shown on the Renewal notice at the bottom of this message, or drop off your cheques into a drop box which be available for this purpose , at the Nov 17 and Dec 15 events.

5. OUR WEBSITE
   
   I would like to bring to your attention that our website (www.55pga.com) now has quite a lot of content. Some of this content is only available to members after they login. e.g. The current version of our Constitution and our Blog. Soon the status of members registering for events will be available on the website - but only after members login - a new menu item appears in the left hand margin called "Event Status". In order to see this, when you next register for an event, you have to provide the Social Secretary with a unique identifier like your membership #, phone number or e-mail address.

6. THE 55PGA CONSTITUTION
   
   The 55PGA Constitution is currently under revision and the revised version will be brought to the AGM for ratification. You can see the current on the website. You will need to log onto the website first:
   User Name: Your e-mail address
   Password: 55pgamem
   
   You will a link on the Left Hand Side for the 55PGA Constitution. You can click on this link to see the current version of the Constitution.
   
   A revised version will be presented at the AGM for ratification. You can see the revised version by clicking on: Revised version of the 55PGA Constitution. You can do the comparison yourself before attending the meeting.

7. THE 55PGA BLOG
   
   There is a Blog on our website that I would like members to contribute to. If you send your article to me, I will post it and members can comment. Remember, since our website reflects us, it can only be as good as our members.
   
   So please think about contributing to our website. There are many sections to choose from. If there is something you think could benefit our members, please forward the material to me for posting on the website.
   
   Some of these other sections also contain some useful information. Please take some time to browse through the sections . . . and don't forget our photo gallery.

8. EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
   
   We would also like to have an expression of interest from you for the following courses:
   1. Introduction to photography (Digital & Film).
   2. Introduction to Fly Fishing.

These courses can be started in the new year in preparation for the Summer.

55PGA -Goan Short Story Contest - invitation to participate

It is often that we hear about people we know who are keen on ensuring that their stories are somehow captured so that these gems can be shared with friends and family over time. Now members of our community have an opportunity to do what they hoped to accomplish but did not have the resources to translate their desires into actionable next steps.

Our Book Club leader, Rudi Rodrigues, is a gifted professional who has agreed to help those interested to participate in this interesting project. Full details are provided in the attachment. We would hope that those interested may be able to participate. I'm truly excited about this initiative and I'm sure that you will share my enthusiasm.

This project is scheduled to proceed soon and we would hope that this provides a venue not only for creativity - capturing Goan culture for posterity. If you or others have any questions Rudi Rodrigues will be pleased to provide additional details. Click here for more details
