BLACK HISTORY MONTH – MASS IN SWAHILI

Swahili is a widely spoken language in East Africa as well as countries neighbouring the region. In commemoration of this year’s Black History Month all Swahili speaking people in Toronto together with their families and friends are invited to a Mass in Swahili to be held on Sunday, February 21st, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Parish. Goa Sudharop: 2010 - "YEAR OF THE GOAN VOLUNTEER SPIRIT"

Goa Sudharop is pleased to announce its theme for 2010 - YEAR OF THE GOAN VOLUNTEER SPIRIT.

This is our 10 year anniversary. Goa Sudharop started as a volunteer organization in 2000 to contribute to the development of Goa and Goans. We want to renew that spirit of volunteerism this year and encourage others to volunteer in their communities and perform public service.

The management of Goa Sudharop will collectively volunteer 2,000 hours and we hope Goans around the world can add substantially to that total. Email our Treasurer, Acaria Almeida at jarksalm@..., and let her know the volunteer work you perform in your community. It does not have to be for Goa or Goa-related, any volunteer work whether in education, environment, human rights, wildlife, conservation, literacy, elimination of poverty, child protection,child care, taking care of seniors/sick, promoting art/music/sport/culture, etc. All unpaid work is volunteer work!
