An Appeal from Aaron Joshua Pinto

The People, Places & Things section in this issue displays an article first published in the Mississauga News entitled “Future leader talks trade in Colombia”
Readers will be elated to know of Aaron’s achievements. However, to fulfill his current mission he needs support from the community. This is where you come in.
Please read Aaron’s appeal and respond accordingly.
We are in dire need of future leaders …. Here comes one with much promise

Hello everyone! My name is Aaron Joshua Pinto. I'm heading into my fourth year of International Relations (Honours Specialization) and French Language and Translation (Minor) at Western University in London, Ontario.

I was chosen by Global Vision, on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, as one of thirty young Canadians from across our country (1 of 3 from the Greater Toronto Area; and only Catholic Indian) to represent my region of Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area as a Junior Team Canada Ambassador on an international trade mission to Panama and Colombia this July. I’m definitely excited! While in Central and South America, I will have the distinct privilege of making meaningful connections with a diverse group of community, business, and government leaders (including Juan Santos, the President of Colombia).

With all this exciting stuff said, every delegate selected for this mission is tasked with the goal of raising $5,500 in sponsorship from various business, government, and community organizations. And so, in hopes of making this mission a reality, I am appealing to you for any amount of financial support. Considering Canada’s firm commitment to service, diversity, and internationalization, I think this international trade mission to both Panama and Colombia is a great opportunity for me to represent our beautiful country in the Americas in every way possible.

All sponsors will receive a tax receipt for their donation. I will also be sending my partners a report about the economic and development mission (which will also be presented to Prime Minister Harper), cultural and market information, any key contacts I’ve tracked down, and an overall summary of my experience in Panama in Colombia. If you have particular interests in these countries, I would be more than happy to address them or make presentations on behalf of your organization while I am there.

Cheques can be made payable to ‘Global Vision’ and can be sent to:
772 Esprit Crescent
Mississauga, Ontario
L5R 3B6

If you require any additional information about myself or my mission, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have over a cup of coffee.

Thank you very much for your time, consideration, your support, and your blessings.

Peace always,

Aaron Joshua Pinto
