GOAN ARCHIVES CANADA INC
Christmas Message – 2013

Merry Christmas 2013

Happy New Year 2014

On behalf of Goan Archives Canada Inc., I wish to convey to each and every one of you and your immediate families, a very Blessed Christmas and a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year, 2014.

As 2013 draws to an end and as we prepare to embrace the New Year, I would like to offer all our contributors a very warm and heartfelt thanks for their encouragement in supporting the Goan Archives project from inception.

Special thanks to our Archivists from PAMA, (Peel Art Museum and Archives), in Brampton, for supporting our idea and accepting our collection, which will be stored in the only Archival Repository in the Region, providing climate controlled storage facilities in their multi-million dollar complex.

Our partner PAMA has endorsed our undertaking with a letter which commends us highly. You can peruse the letter on our Website at: https://sites.google.com/site/goanarchivescanada/

As I reflect on this past year, I am proud that we have accomplished what we had set out to do, documented on our Phase 1 completion.

The Edition 2 report/ publication
GOAN ARCHIVES CANADA INC. 2009 –2013 can be viewed and downloaded as a PDF version https://sites.google.com/site/goanarchivescanada/

The cover design tries to capture the essence of the Goan Landscape to created a nostalgic feeling of “back home” together with the “lock and key” depicts The Goan Community migration to every continent of the World still maintaining and “Tracing our Roots” to our ancestral home, GOA, India.

Our main focus at present is to recruit our youth to continue the work of Goan Archives Canada Inc. We trust that they will pursue this exciting undertaking, understanding the merit and importance of saving our heritage for future generations as they continue to add to this vital resource.

Thank you and God bless.
